Can anyone remember the name of the waterproof finish that’s really good; it was mentioned at David Lowe demo. It’s for a towel rail, so has to be able to withstand damp … Christine

Two new woodturners

Congratulations to our latest graduates from the Beginners Woodturners Course. The aim is to teach the techniques and basic skills, to make quality shavings and to learn enough to go home and practice safely. If, during the course, an identifiable items is made then that is purely coincidental. Our two new woodturners completed a bowl each on week 5 and another on week 6, one of the bowls was a natural edge bowl, which was particularly tricky, so well done to everyone.
David Lowe – Demonstration Notes Feb 2017

Wood of the month problem
Hello, All,
I’ve just spoken to Christine Carson, who is pleased to have won the saw in the raffle last night. Unfortunately, she won’t be at the meeting in April, but is happy to present Ash as Wood of the Month in May, if that suits. Could we maybe find a volunteer to present Birch (which was due in May) in April?
Judith
Edit…we have had two volunteers. Carl got there first, so he wins.
Workshop Lighting
Does anybody have an hour to spare tomorrow (Friday) at the workshop about 11am. I need somebody to help hold the light fittings while I secure them. If you can help please e mail me asap
