Kirkcudbright Country Fair, 9th and 10th July

JFK

Ask not what your club can do for you,

ask what you can do for your club

Thank you Arthur.

Arthur Young is manning the Scottish Crookmakers stall next door to ours and has offered to help out on the Woodturners’ stall when he can.

However, we are still looking for volunteers for the club stand at the Kirkcudbright Country Fair, 9th and 10th July.

We would like to have two or three people on the stand at any one time but at the moment the listing of volunteers is as shown below.

Please think again and, if you can, come and join us.

Let me know if you can help as soon as possible.

 Kirkcudbright Country Fair

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July

Hi everyone, I should like to encourage you to support the club by offering to help man the stand at the Kirkcudbright Country Fair as mentioned by Roger in his June notices.

It is not a difficult task, and if you could spare a little time on either Saturday or Sunday I am sure you would enjoy the experience. All you have to do is talk to the visitors to the stand about woodturning, the club, our facilities and what we offer in terms of come and try it sessions and tuition. Oh! and sell, sell sell!

Some people feel brave enough to demonstrate woodturning using the small bench-top lathe we will have in the marquee. Judith has made lots of pens and others have made other small items such as Christmas trees and mushrooms. But you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to and you don’t have to be an expert ~ the punters can relate to a beginner.

There are usually two or three of us at the stand at any one time so there will be an opportunity to have a look round some of the other exhibits.

The Fair is open each day from 10.00am to 4.30pm so I have divided the sessions as show below;

Saturday 9th July
10.00 – 12.00
12.00 – 2.30
2.30 – 4.30
Sunday 10th July
10.00 – 12.00
12.00 – 2.30
2.30 – 4.30

There will be some setting up required at the start and some tidying up at the end so I have added the odd 30 minutes to the middle session.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help out and which session or sessions you would be able to undertake.

Thanks on behalf of the club,

David
