Auction catalogue

The first version of the auction catalogue is available on the site in the Calendar entry for the sale.

If you have items you want to sell please send full details ASAP. Think what YOU would want to know if you were going to bid for an item – make, model, size, power, capacity, age, condition. The clearer the catalogue entry the more likely we are to sell the item AND get a good price for it.

Chainsaw workshop

I had expressed an interest in the chainsaw demo tomorrow, please accept my apologies for non attendance.  Much as I would like to be there I am on a three line whip to attend a family 80th birthday party on Tyneside tomorrow !   John Colbeck

Chainsaw Workshop/Auction lots

The chainsaw workshop is tomorrow, Saturday 21 March, 1pm – 4pm at the Workshop. Bring your saw etc, petrol or electric, and learn or revise how to look after it well. Maybe you are think of buying a chainsaw and don’t know where to start – there’s sure to be wide variety of other members’ saws on display. The usual tea/coffee and bickies will be on tap.

If you are coming AND you have items to sell in the Auction next month then please bring full details with you i.e. make and model, capacities etc. and tell Phil H. He will bring a laptop and enter the details directly into the Auction catalogue, which will be put on our website as soon as there is something in it !!! The Terms and Conditions of Sale are on the website already as part of the Calendar entry for the Auction.

Mondays Workshop

Apologies for the late announcement but I will no longer be opening the workshop on a Monday evening starting from tonight (15th Dec 2014). Depending on demand I might look at opening on a Monday some time in the new year.

Note – Tuesdays are unaffected!

Centre Saver

Assuming Roland brings the big burr that he is working on, and we can complete the preparations, we may be able to have a go with the Kel McNaughton centre saver system next Tuesday, the 25 November. So if you want to see it in action – come to Turning Tuesday !

Olivers Woodturning

I’ve just updated our Links and Resources page with a new entry for Olivers Woodturning. It looks interesting but I haven’t tried it myself yet so have a look so if you decide to use it please let us know here how you got on.

Cheers, Phil J
