Eugene Masterclass

For those who are going on the Masterclass Eugene has sent the following:

Hi Roger,
My fault but all dimensions are in mm.  However, the 15 x 15 section does have to be gripped in a chuck.  My Record/Nova chucks will just grip this but I forgot to consider your chucks.  It might be better to go up to 20 x 20 mm or whatever size is handiest for you.

Beginners Course

John just finished his beginners course with a beautiful Ash Bowl just in time for Christmas. For his spindle project he chose to turn an elegant “Lady” which was equally stunning.

If anyone wishes to come to Creetown for a course I have non booked until April.

August / September Club Nights

As indicated at our last meeting the programme for August will have to be changed and we were looking for ideas for both the August and September Club Nights.

We have now set the programme as follows:

August will be Rolf looking at what to do with Branch Wood – The competition, following on from the last demo is a non round bowl.

September we will have a demonstration on pyrography by  Ivan Stelling.  Ivan works under the name “Molten Fire” and his web site is moltenfire.co.uk.   We hope to make the second half of this evening a hands on session with a few pyrography units set up, but we will see how the evening goes. –  The competition for September will be set by Rolf at the August meeting.
