Wood Prep – Sunday Morning, 3rd Sept
This month’s wood prep session is in the morning, nominally between 9am and 12 noon.
We’ll have a sawmill so the main aim is to plank and stack all the logs currently lying under the tarp in the car park.
Secondary aims including converting existing planks into blanks with the bandsaw and maybe tackling the last of the ash trunks round at Irvings bakery, for which chainsaws and PPE will be required.
No Wood Prep Sunday 6 August
Please be ware that I will not be organising any wood prep activity on 6 August.
Wood prep – July 2nd
A quick reminder about wood prep tomorrow. There is a lot of wood at the workshop that needs converting so if you’re available come along between 1pm and 4pm tomorrow, Sunday 2nd. Bring your chainsaws and PPE.
I’ll be going over to Barwhinnock House for about 1:30pm if you’d prefer to meet me there.
Wood Prep – Sunday June 4th
The first of the month seems to have come around quick and there’s a lot to do!
On the cards for tomorrow:
1. chainsaw work on the huge pile of logs outside (if the weather is really inclement we might do it inside)
2. making a new rack for the wood blanks
3. cutting blanks on the bandsaw
4. sealing the blanks
5. collecting a sycamore trunk from Dalbeatie
So lots to do, hope you can make it! Bring your chainsaws and PPE.
Wood Prep Tomorrow (Sun 7th May)
So it looks like there’s lots of wood prep to do tomorrow. The plan is as follows:
Meet at 1pm at the workshop, aiming to be finished by 4pm.
- Group 1: Workshop, 1pm
- Phil H + ? others
- Plank and stack the pile of cherry
- Blank and seal some of the older, drier planks
- Group 2: Barwhinnock House, 1:30pm
- Phil J + ? others
- Work TBC
- Group 3: Craichlaw, Kirkcowan, 2pm
- John B, HGJP + 2 others
- Retreiving laburnum from the woods
If you have them, bring your chainsaws and PPE. If not, don’t worry there’s plenty of other work to be done.
See you all there!
No Wood Prep on Sunday 2 April
Sorry for the late notice but there will be no wood prep meeting this Sunday (2 April).
