Can anyone remember the name of the waterproof finish that’s really good; it was mentioned at David Lowe demo. It’s for a towel rail, so has to be able to withstand damp … Christine

I have used treatex for several jobs and it seems to be really good. Use like varnish, several light coats, first coat seems to take longer to dry than second and third.
Advice to all … when putting the lid back onto a tin of paint, when the lid has been off a few times and is a little distorted, do not hold it to your chest while hammering it on, just in case the tag on your smock’s zip punches through the bottom of the tin and causes all your clothes, bandsaw, lathe, and two tool boxes to get heavily splattered and a puddle of paint to form on the workshop floor. Holding it up high to see where the stream of paint is coming from does not help.
Hello, you might also consider Rustins Plastic Coating, I have used it on the inside of vessels and they hold water with no problems so it is waterproof.
