Dear All,
Easter is almost upon us and today saw the last of the current season of Wednesday afternoon workshop sessions.
Thanks to all those who have joined us over the winter months and I hope we will be able to start again in October ~ but now I am looking forward to spending time in the vegetable garden, cutting the grass, decorating………
The Wednesday afternoon workshop openings have now finished for the current session and will start again beginning 1.00 to 3.00pm. on Wednesday 10 January 2024. Please come along and join us if you are free to do so.
Enjoy the festive season and let’s look forward to turning in the New Year.
I am unable to open the workshop for members tomorrow but Phil Howard has agreed to do so between 1.00 and 3.0 pm.
Thanks Phil.
I will be opening the workshop for members on Wednesday afternoons from 1-3.00pm starting on Wednesday of this week, (1st November 2023). If we have enough attendees I would hope to continue with these sessions until March 2024, (given a break for the Christmas/New Year festivities).
This is especially intended for, but not restricted to those who do not like driving in the dark.
I have a dental appointment on Wednesday 15th November and hope that someone else will offer to open the workshop on that afternoon.
We turned up today for our last session of Wednesday afternoon turning until the autumn, and were surprised to discover a rearranged workshop. Our part-completed bowls, which had been safely placed on top of the tall grey tool cabinets, had been moved.
Try as we might, we could not find our missing bowls, not in the workshop, not in the kitchen, nor in the rest of the building! No matter how they may look to other people, some effort has gone into making them as they are, and it would be nice to be able to finish them.
In the end we left having done no turning.
Does anyone know where we might find them?
Grump! Grump!
David
Hi All,
Today. 5th April, is the last time I will be opening the workshop on Wednesday afternoons for the current season. As you know these openings were to enable members to use the workshop facilities without having to drive home in the dark. Hence them being available from October to Easter.
Time now to think about gardening, decorating and holidaying as well as turning.
Enjoy the summer and the Wednesday afternoon openings will be reintroduced in October.
Best wishes,
David
Please note that I will not be opening the workshop for club members this afternoon 1.00 – 3.00pm.
I expect we will be back to normal next week.

Since the turn of the year, only one other person has been coming to the Wednesday afternoon workshop sessions.
We have both agreed that it is not worth opening the workshop for the two of us, so I propose that after this coming Wednesday, we give it a break until Easter, or at least until the weather gets warmer.
If there’s a demand for continued opening, I’m happy to change my mind.
Best wishes,
David
Happy New Year One and All,
I will restart opening the workshop on Wednesday afternoons from 1.00 – 3.00pm from Wednesday 11th January.
Hope to see you there.
